Hi guys, I just received the latest NUVO fusion AIO tank from Innovative Marine. While doing some water tests, I noticed that water is leaking from the side panel (sump area) to the main display area (I only poured water into the sump). Apparently the silicon seal is letting the water pass through.

My question to other IM tank owner is: is this normal? Is the silicone seal on the acrylic panel between the sump and the display area intended to completely separate the two area?

Yes, the acrylic panel between the "sump" and the display area are intended to be completely separated. The new version Pro2 has some indent on the top to avoid overflow. That said water shouldn't be flowing thru the silicone between the two area. I would contact IM to see what they say about it.

Thank you for the reply PR_nano! I contacted IM's customer support and got the answer that it was a design feature, rather than a leaking issue. Once the water pressure equalize on both side the leaking stops.

Hi Brucelee,
Realize this post is a bit old, but how did this turn out? I also just got a NUVO 25 from them and it also leaks from the display in into the back sump area. My leak is very bottom right side when looking at the front of the tank. Again, only leaks into the sumo from the display, but def not a pin leak either. If I fill the display only, i would estimate 10 minutes the sump would also be full from the leak. I cant see how this is a design feature... as I dont see what it can accomplish. Ill likely be contacting BRS tomorrow as I feel like a brand new tank should not have this issue.

Hey Staples,

Did a new tank fix this issue? I just got a 25 nuvo lagoon from IM and having the same problem where the right side corner is leaking from the sump or vice versa from the display to the sump. Wondering if I need to go ahead and contact IM or ask for a replacement from Saltwateraquarium.com
