So just set up my brand new quantum 160. It is in exactly 8.25 “ of water. Tank is heavily stocked 150 gallon tank. I have closed the main tube by turning it as far as it will go, and adjusted micro know on top. I have to almost close it completely (micro knob) on top to get water level to bayonet level (where cup meets the body) there is zero froth, is this a break in issue or am I doing something wrong? I have the air Venturi opened about 2 turns.

Every other new skimmer I have had goes crazy and overflows cup immediately, so I am confused

Ideally you need the black micro screw fully open when up and running.

You may have turned the long tube to much (I did it once!) so I would initially start the set up again.

Have the black screw fully open
Then ‘close’ the long tube until the water level is around the joint of the skimmer cup and work from there.

It might overskim for a few days once set up but will soon settle.
