Hi ppl.
Just started my first reef since college 15 years ago. A lot has changed since then and I didn’t get very far into this hobby Before my 200 gal tank started leaking back then and I sold everything.
I currently have a Max Nano 20 gal. 2 months old. Homemade Chaeto reactor. Seneye. WiFi InkbirdSmart. Red Sea Reef 50 Led.
Water parameters:
MG 1160
Calcium 560
DKH 9.5
Temp 75
PH 8.2
Ammonia 0
Phos 0
Lights only at about 50%
10-20% water changes a week.
Have watched a lot of BRSTV and read a bunch of R2R threads.
When I started the tank I used Dr Tims, Prodibio Start up, and Microbacter 7. Not all at once, kind of alternated. Then kept doing mini doses of microbacter until about a week ago, every other day.
About a month ago I got some coraline algae from Indo Pacific farms, scraped that into the tank.
Just started dosing Polyp Lab One and increased light schedule length about 2 hrs from 8-10 hrs. Shortly after, my white dry rock started turning green. Just on the surface, no hair bubble algae.
I have had two clown fish a couple crabs and a couple snails for about 1.5 month. They seem to be doing well.
I have about 8 coral frags. They also seem to be doing well.
Anyone have experience with PL One?
I’d like to keep using it and see how it works.
Also, is there some sort of pictorial etc reference on natural, good, cycle for first year etc?
Glad to be a member!
Thanks for all your help.
