New or used?

so awhile ago I had thrown rock out I had into my backyard. In an attempt to be frugal I was thinking of using this rock. Is there a way I can use this rock or would It be better to ditch it and buy new rock?

My personal opinion would be no. I would just get new rock. Not worth the process it would be to get the old rock ready to be put in a tank again.

I would say, rinse it off with clean water, and use it.

Same cycle issues remain, so if adding to a decent existing system, it’s fine. If starting a tank from scratch, also fine
