New Outdoor Frag Tank up And Running

Hey Peeps,

About a month ago I moved the location of my outdoor frag tank from the middle of the yard to up against the house. We didn't do a good job of levelling the stand and 10 days later the corner seam popped.

With the help from high above, my 2 walls of pulsing xenia in the tank got sucked into the gap between the glass panels and stopped the tank from draining.

My outdoor tanks started as an experiment to see if it could be done. Well that was 15 years ago and I have had great success with growing corals in the sunlight. So it's time to take my taped together assortment of pieces and parts and build something in my yard that isn't such a junk pile eye sore.

So here is the first phase - The new frag tank is up and running and sitting on a concrete pad.

I think this is really cool! I didn't watch all the video but how do you deal with rainfall, etc..

This is soooo cool! I love it! Ypu must have a lot of evaporation. What you do when it rains? Here in New Hampshire its impossible to do something like that!

is it open top? whats the risk of birds and other animals snacking on the fish?

All good questions! I'm especially curious about rainfall and predatory birds.... maybe even curious and hungry cats!

I am actually thinking rain would be like auto water changes- but not sure how to keep salinity stable. Very curious!
