The new Petco on 72W has salt water fish. The prices are pretty reasonable. It's a brand new store next to the new Target. The fish are in good condition at the moment. Hopefully they have a good manager in the fish section to keep them healthy. Some FW heliophytic aquatic plants are already losing leaves in need of CO2 and more light although the sciophytic ones are still okay.

I would make sure to quarantine every fish you get from there. I speak from experience in this. I think it is the suppliers but I have seen the come in sick.

Is the store any nicer than the one in Decatur? Did they have a frag tank, I hear rumors of several Petco location getting nice frag tanks now-a-days

They didn't have much when I went in. Manager said they are having trouble getting saltwater fish right now but will be on regular schedule soon. Currently having to FedEx, but soon everything will be trucked in from Atlanta. He didn't know who the company in Atlanta uses for suppliers.

They had quite a few salt water fish last night. Niger trigger was very nice looking and reasonably priced. A rather skinny looking scooter blenny was priced at $8.99 or something like that. Damsels were dirt cheap. A small ocellaris clownfish was something like $19.00 (I think...) There were other fish that were priced kinda high in comparison.

Petco has a bad rep for saltwater. I can only hope they hired a specialist to care for the creatures and tanks. otherwise, we will continue to hear horror stories from them.

Maybe I need to apply for a job at petco in the aquatic department....Think I can get anyone to give me a reference........LOL

go for it Dave,I know where the fish and corals come from you will have your hands full.

Dave you should be getting a call from a customer of mine named John about the tank this weekend. He has been nipping at my heals about it but I have been to busy to do much.I would love to come out when he comes but I know with my limited time home I wont be able to.You can always send corals back with him for me lol.I know he plans to come look with money in hand, so its all but gone.
Jason

i live a couple miles from there and was excited to see they had saltwater during the opening weekend....i went back a week and a half alter and everything had started the sharp decline to crap....not looking good initially anyway maybe it will get better

I was in there a couple of days ago and had to inform them that their flame angel was dead ($63.99). I'm not sure how long it had been that way or if they even cared. Needless to say, I won't be getting any of my fish from there.

The salt tanks were empty today. I wondered if they were all sold or dead. The one in Decatur has had several employees with reef or salt tanks. They seemed to do a good job. But, I haven't been in there in a year or so.

I went in Wednesday and they had around 6 saltwater aquariums with fish in them. Had a beautiful flame angel, some blue damsels, couple firefish, lots of clowns.....anybody heard when the dollar a gallon aquarium sale is going to be?
