I just got a new pink streaked wrasse and it was acting ok at the store but i got home and drip acclimated him for a hour and put him in the tank he kinda just sunk down and layed oj the bottom by the rock and then i tried to scoop him up with a net and he shot under the rock and is kinda just laying up in the rock and hasnt moved for a few hours. What might be wrong with it?

I’m not a fan of drip method but more so, one hour often not adequate time for a good acclimation
With that, did you equalize the salinity with that of the display tank?
Did you use any of the bag water?

often wrasses do the “play dead” stunt upon introduction. Allow it to adjust to new surroundings and it should in the morning have perked up

That's cool to learn. If not drip acclimation, what do you prefer?

I floated the bag in the tank for 20 minutes and then Poured the bag into a bucket and used the innovative marine drip acclimation thing. How would you recommend acclimating new fish?

And how would you equalize the salinity?

You need to be VERY careful with upward salinity changes. Many dealers hold their fish at low specific gravity, say 1.020 Your tank is probably higher, 1.025 Fish cannot handle a rise in specific gravity very well at all. It is much better to adjust your receiving tank to match the dealer's. This is easy to do if you have a quarantine tank. Otherwise, it is very difficult to do...

Did your wrasse recover? I realize it’s been a while, but I am thinking about getting a pink Street grass soon and just wanted to read up on them when I came across this post.
