You know what they say... "in for a penny, in for a pound"

After 20+ years of reef keeping, I've finally conceded to the fact that I "need" to add an element of autonomy to my tank. My reef is nothing special, but I like everything to be alive and happy.

I've decided to get the following GHL hardware:

ProfiLux 4 Mega-Set 6E
KHD & Slave Doser 2.1 Set
IOND & Slave Doser 2.1 Set
GHL Doser Maxi Slave
GHL Doser 2.1 Slave
Flow-Sensor, 9000 l/h
VorTech-Controller
Leckage-Interface
Solenoid
Sensorholder 4
Level Sensor, Floater x4
Leckage-Sensor x1
Splitter Cable for Level Sensors x2

My question is, from the list of hardware you see, is there anything else I will need to make this all work within the P4 System? (expansion cards, boxes, cables).

Also, is there anyway to control the Vectra pump other than have it on/off via the Powerbar? Also, has anyone come up with a way to control Radions?

I emailed GHL with the proposed order and questions but only received an email back with invoice attached. I'm sure they're very busy this time of year so I thought I'd reach out via other channels to see if the collective could help out.

I don't really want to get it all here then find out I have to make another order because I need an additional card or cable.

Any help would be appreciated.

Tanks.

Your going to be 1 level sensor
to short.

4 float sensors will take level port 1-4 on the back of the unit with one y cable on each.

You need another level sensor port for the flow sensor and leak interface. Part #PLM-4Level

You could use a Y cable on it also if you want a level sensor port left over.

PAB cables should come with everything. Last thing you may want to consider is distance of everything, you may need extension cables for the sensors depending on where the P4 is to the tank.

Welcome to the GHL club!!

Welcome to the site. With all my Ecotech stuff I use Reef Link To control it. There is no way for GHL to communicate with Radions or Vectras. So I just don’t bother to control the Vortechs with the GHL. I do shut off power to the sockets for feed modes and maintenance.

With the Leak interface you need to get detectors to plug into it. I have 3 around my tank. You can daisy chain them and plug them into one interface port.

You might find you need a second powerbar. I use 3 on my tank.

All the major devices are connected to the main unit with a PAB cable. PAB cables are CAT 5e LAN cables. You can also use CAT6 cables if you want too. You can get those anyplace or make your own.

The ION is only available for preorder at this point.. In case you aren't aware of that.

Not sure what you are dosing in your tank but the KHD uses only 3 dosers on a 4 head unit. Depending on what you dose already do a count on needed doser.

Are you planing on the Control unit to run a Calcium reactor? If so you will need the PH probe add in card and an additional probe.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
