I picked up some "Water Weld" at HD, which is made by JB Weld.

Just about everything about it is like Aquamend, even price... going to try it out and see.

Let us know how it works out. I went to HD the other day and they stopped carrying aquamend. I wasn't sure what kind of putty to get, so I just picked up super glue.

Yeah... same here. This was stocked where the Aquamend used to be... so I picked a stick of it up, and also found the last stick of Aquamend in the very back of the row :)

Our local HD has carried water weld for years, I've used a few sticks of it without any issues at all.

You can also go to the plumbing section at HD and get Harvey's plumbers epoxy putty. I don't like it as much as aquamend, but it works. I usually use it in combo with super glue and it works well.

Yeah...

So, hands down this Water Weld walks all over Aquamend.

The fact that I dont have to spend 5 minutes mixing it in my hands... most of my hobbies cause carpel tunnel so that was a plus. Seemed to mix a little softer than AM....

I welded a few rocks together and placed some SPS around the tank.. I love it, I will never use another putty.

sweet good to know about another product!

I've been using water weld for three years now. IMO they are all the same and it works just like aquamend for coral attachment. It may work better for rock to rock

I agree kraylen I just went through the same adventure and I like it more. I wish there was an epoxy that came off when you wash your hands though...
And if you use a superglue sandwich its the best stuff ever. Unless you ever want to get it off the rock...

Yeah, they are "EXACTLY" the same... except I don't have to mix the WW for 5 minutes... its soft right out of the tube...

Time is money so anything that saves me an hours saves me 50 bucks.

I will never use AM again unless the WW is out.

I wish someone would have told me about this sooner, I thought it was new since I've never seen it before. :p
