Hi all
I am adding a reactor to my JBJ 45AIO and I will be running GFO and carbon.
Silly question, I have seen instructions on separating them to make sure the GFO tumbled and I just watched a BRS video where they mixed them up together.
So which is it? If I separate them do I put GFO in the bottom with carbon on top?
thanks!

Separate is better. Carbon is soft and therefore would grind itself to dust. GFO is harder and can handle the tumble

Best not to mix them.
If you only have a single reactor chamber, use that for the GFO. carbon can be used in a mesh bag in a high flow area with success.
