I just got this (by mail) 2 days ago. It wasn’t like this at first, but I’ve noticed the tips of it are getting clear. Is this bad?

Is this in DT or fuge.? What light are you using and schedule? Rock looks pretty white is it a new tank? How old? What are your other parameters?

It’s is a brand new tank. The rock is from Marco rocks. The tank is finishing up a cycle so nitrites are coming down and nitrites are up. Ammonia is 0. Keeping light on for 12 hours.

Sorry I mean nitrites are coming down, nitrates are up.

Red macros can go clearing when they get a lot if light. The less light they get the redder they are. Try sticking it under an overhang or in a corner where PAR is typically lower. If you can control your light intensity, then you can also reduce it to help the red come back.

Thank you. I guess I should get the dimmer add-on for my light.
