Hey there everybody. I am currently into the 4th week of cycling two new SW tanks...a living reef (75 gal) and a FOWLR (100 gal). For my live reef side, I wanted a passive community, and I've done some diligence finding my preferred inhabitants. I'm looking for your opinions and cautions if any regarding the livestock list and my sequence of adding them. I'll on average add 1 fish/mo. I'm more of an intermediate level aquariast, having a successful nano for the past 5 years. Anyway, here's the aforementioned batting order:
1) mated Black Ice Snowflake clowns
2) Randall's Shrimp Goby + pistol shrimp
3) orange spotted filefish
4) blue striped pipefish
5) a Seahorse
6) Cowfish
7) Marginalis Butterflyfish
8) Blue Spotted Angelfish
9) Square tail Bristletooth Tang

Look forward to hearing from you wiser fellow aquariasts! Thanks - Steve

Welcome to reef2reef!

I would avoid the seahorse as they require a dedicated tank.
I would avoid the cowfish as well because they grow to big for a 75 gallon.
I have heard that orange spotted filefish are hard to keep. It has been done before but I never kept them and can not give you any advice.

Everything else looks good.

Good luck and happy Reefing!

I appreciate your input. I can live w/o the seahorse & pipefish... I figured they would fare ok with those more timid tankmates mentioned, but if it isn't going to work I'm not going to push the envelope...there are plenty of other good choices. The cow is out; but have you any recommendations for a smallish boxfish or puffer in a reef or is it just not possible? Thanks!!

You can try a toby puffer. They will not eat corals but all puffer types eat inverts.
