New reef tank

Hi guys my tank has been up for a week and I am seeing .50 ammonia and nitrite..... It.is ok to do a water change? I used live sand and seachem stability to help with cycle.....also do I need to add copepods to my tank?.what are they for

IMO you can start doing 10% water changes each week. Here is a very informative video on pods:
