I'm new to this whole salt water thing. I've done freshwater for years, and finally decided to try out something salty. Well my tank's been up and running for two months now. I'm adding corals and fish slowly. Everything seems to be going well, except for the occasional hijinks.
For example, I thought that cute little banded coral shrimp would be an awesome addition . . . no. No he is not. He knocks everything over, steals food, and is a little holy terror.
Or I thought, well I'll get the BIG blue knuckled hermit crab. He's awesome looking and the same price as the teeny ones. Again, no.
Today's big adventure involved nassarius snails. I bought two at my local LFS to help with my sand bed. As per my normal acclimation technique I floated the bag and slowly added water. About 40 minutes into the acclimation process I noticed the bag was empty. . . Yep, the little boogers climbed out while I wasn't paying attention. The good news is one of them is cruising around the sandbed just fine. The bad news is I can't find the other one. Since the tank sits on my dresser in my bedroom I have an awful feeling the snail fell into my open dresser drawer.
So here I am digging through my underwear drawer looking for a snail.
It's going to be fun explaining this one to boyfriend when he gets home :squigglemouth:
