new reefer here in nj

With the drastically different lighting, I do not see this as a very fair comparison.
Do you have a photo under simular lighting?
I believe Lucky Corals does use heavy blue lighting. My lighting is more white. I have a four bulb x 80 W fixture over my tank during the day. Front to back it’s aqua blue special, blue plus, coral plus, blue plus. At 7 o’clock the aqua blue special and the coral plus shut off leaving only the blue plus and my blue LEDs that turn on at the same time. The first photo is their website photo.

Welcome to Reef2Reef! I'm sure there are plenty of NJ reefers on the forums here that can help you out!

thanks for all !!! i end up buying few frags from pacific aquayium this evening after i leaving office, price is fair since one of my friend works there, only thing was these frags that i picked today was very colorful in their tanks, but they dont looks as good as in the store, i think was cuz the blue light! they keep blue only but i keep 50% of white. quetion, do i need to keep only blue on my tank in order to see better colors in corals? does these shofy corals needs some white light? thanks guys!!!

What I do, as well as many other reefers, is I run my blue lights and my white lights during the day, and then run only blue lights in the evening when I have the most opportunity to enjoy my tank. In my estimation, the white light is essential for the coral’s health. Others may disagree based on their experience. I’m speaking from my experience. Everything is, of course, electronically timed.
