Hi guys. I'm fairly new to reefing, 9 months in and I have a 875 litre, 6 foot tank with a few sips and softies as well and fish.
I've been looking at mushrooms more just lately but don't know anything about them.
Any tips/advice for a noob?
Flow, how fussy with parematers they are, where best to place them etc.

Many thanks

Mike

Mushrooms are not hard to keep. They tend to like a little more nutrients than some corals so it's generally okay to keep in a tank that gets fed well. Low to moderate flow is all they need so don't keep them in front of a power head or they will probably drop off rock and try to find a less turbulent place to settle. They are photosynthetic so need some light but not a lot. They don't grow a skeleton so don't use much alkalinity or calcium. Some species reproduce pretty quickly so be aware of that when you decide which kind to buy and where to place them (they can sting other corals if they get close enough).
