New Reefer! plus question

Hey guys, New reefer with a weird setup. My friend wanted a saltwater tank and I don't have space, so she asked me to build her one and she would fund it. Currently five weeks in!

Bonus question, say you quarantine a fish when you get it, how do you know it's ready to move to the display tank? After 14 days? Plus what if you do see signs of sickness while its in that Q-tank?

Welcome! There are many topics on R2R about quarintine procedures that will answer all your questions. When possible, I am pro pre-medicating instead of just observing. I would do a quick search and see if any of the articles fit your current need, as there a few different thoughts on this topic.

With the quarantine, any parasites present will not be visible or obvious meaning you will not be transferring parasite or sick fish to the display tank remembering that ich & flukes may only have subtle, but not visible, symptoms . You should in the QT tank be using Prazi pro, coppersafe or both. Give the new arrivals at least 3-4 weeks in quarantine. If using coppersafe, be sure to have a test kit for copper so that you can monitor amounts of copper
