Hey all! Don’t even have my first tank filled and I’m already obsessed. I’m loving my aquas cape but would welcome any thoughts or comments.

Fill it up!! Keep the updates coming, and do a build thread!!
We all love hearing about new tanks and the people who set them up.
Chronicling your progress is an awesome way for you and other new reefers to learn from your successes and.... Pitfalls. Being able to see day one, AND day 1001 is a great way for others to learn

Great idea. I’m going to do that. I’ve spent absolutely countless hours researching and watching YouTube videos. I will track progress though. I’m sure I’ll need some guidance along the way.

It's a great way of learning. Besides... Your tank may inspire someone else to do a tank.. it's not just the gazillion gallon tanks that people follow. There are WAY more nanos and Picos than 1000 gallon setups.

Welcome to R2R and congratulations on the new tank! Being able to reach the glass all of the way around the inside of the tank (between the rock and the glass) will help with cleaning - good luck!

quick question. . . does a glass cleaner fit between the rock and the glass on the left hand side? that's something I always think of when aquascaping.

I did make sure I can get the cleaner around the glass. I did leave enough room

If it leaks you will have wished you leak tested it outside.

RO/DI set up and priming before I start pulling DI water to mix up the water. This is soooooo slow!!! Gonna be Monday before I get water in. UGH!

Finally filled and cycling!! Water mixed up well and was completely clear in about 8 hours or so. Salinity was a little high, 1.029. Replaced about 5 gallons and now it’s at 1.024. I love making progress!

All clear! Did first test today. A little hard to tell with the color chart but I think the ammonia may have been about .25 ppm. Tested Ph too and it was at 8.2.
