Anybody have experience adding bacteria to tank while having caribsea life rock?
I read some reviews for a few products and they did say not to mix bottled bacteria with the coating that comes on the rock itself. Fact or myth? Dying to get things moving. Thank you all for tuning in

Seems you know something I didn't. Which products said not to use them with Life Rock? I used Dr. Tim's "One and Only" when I started a small tank with 15 pounds of Life Rock. Saw no ill effects.

I was looking at microbacter xlm and another product my LFS had in stock. Did a small amount of research and came across some mixed reviews. I’ll attach an image below for an example. I’ve heard about Dr Tims. I’ll probably order some.

Aah, okay. I agree with what they are saying. The cysted bacteria is more of a hindrance than help but the starter will still work. It may be a little slower because of the "turf wars" with the cysted bacteria for space but it will win. The bacteria in XLM, Dr. Tim's, Fritz Turbo 900 or Bio-Spira are better strains of bacteria for our tanks, or at least that's the party line, and I believe it.

Hey everyone!! Hope all is well.
Does anybody have experience with Red Sea lights?
Doing some quick maintenance on the tank today and noticed that the fan on my Red Sea 50 light wasn’t running. It’s a brand new light and I’m still learning bits and pieces about it as the days go on.
So my question is….is the fan supposed to be running at all times when the light is on or does it run only when it needs to?
