Found a ritteri at a lfs today. Currently it is about 5ish inches around. After a two hour acclimation and a one hour non flow tank placement, I just turned on the pumps again.

One question I have is flow. Everything I have been reading about them says random/chaotic flow, just under crazy. So can there be to much? To me and my past experience with other nems, it is getting to much flow. The ritteri so far seems to like it and is staying out and not letting go.

Lights out for decent pics, will get lights on ones tomorrow.

Haha, we can be tank brothers...I just added my ritteri Thursday and my crispa Monday. I don't think there can be too much flow as it's not directly in him, and of course, no such thing as too much light, which suits me fine.

I have a TON of flow in my tank and it's been a good boy and stayed put. Good luck!

Any pics of yours?

I was nervous all night and the first thing I checked this morning. He moved about a inch to the side, but still basically in the same spot.

The first night, I literally had nightmares that he moved around the tank so much that everything got rearranged and it was a total mess. Thankfully, it was just a nightmare.

Nice! Mine isn't near that big yet, but hoping it grows and fill out a section of the tank.

Lights just came up, still a lot of blue as it goes through the schedule. First pic

Looking good! If you ever see "coral viewing glasses" (they're orange), I just put them in front of the cell camera and negate some of the blue. Otherwise, the red filters that are for regular cameras work wonders too and allow you to take pics whenever you like.

Gorgeous ritteri! I would love one but I haven't been able to find one.

Question. My ritteri was doing fantastic. Full, never deflated, no mouth opened or stuck out. Last night while adding to the tank I added a pair of clowns in. This morning now the ritteri just looks ******. Tentacles are kinda flat and the mouth is slightly open. So far of the pair, the male clown won't leave it alone and I haven't seen the female near it.

You can just see the clown on the right side of it.

I would check ammonia (just in case) and hopefully you're running carbon. Can you get the clowns caseas a precautionary? I won't clown for at least a month to let my babies settle.

As the day went along, I think less and less it is the clown. Flow got switched a bit and I added some sand to the bottom. I could have ticked it off a bit. As the day progressed it came back around, mouth closed again and tentacles full. Skimmer pulled out a lot of gunk today.

Ritteri never did move during this whole process, gape wide, or pull itself in.

Had a issue yesterday. Ritteri decided to move and move big. Walked halfway across the tank and down to the bottom. Not sure why. Carpet in there is good and I am running carbon.

That's scary!! A friend of mine gets on me for not having nem guards on my powerheads, and this is a good enough reason for me to get them done. Glad it wasn't too bad so far. Keep us posted.

Yep it happens! I have mine for well over 2 years now and it will stay put for a year and then move! HA!
