Hey guys, I just changed out all my filters including the membrane, since I don't remember the last time I changed that one out ;Nailbiting. Ever since I started making my own ro/di, I've never seen anything other than 0tds coming out from my di. I've done roughly 20g already with the new filters and getting 7tds in and 4tds out..o_O

Is this normal?
I suspect it could possibly be my inline tds, idk.
I just ordered a handheld tds meter as well.

A little detail about the unit
BRS 5 stage plus
75gpd membrane @ 80psi

Run initial atleast 50 to 100 gal out of it as waste. And try flushing the membrane. Hope it helps.

Really? I just don't remember ever having to waste that much before. I did flush the new filters 10g worth then another 5g with the membrane installed.

This was happening to me as well about a month ago. I had to make about 150l of water before the tds went to 0 otherwise it was reading tds 1-2. I ended up using all the water in the end I couldn't be asked to make it all over again, because I did a 300l water change...

Yeah, this is the first time I'm getting a reading other than 0tds out. Maybe it's the new Di resin?

Too be honest with you I didn't understand it either I thought my Tds was going faulty. Because everything was replaced. Well everything is doing absolutely fine in my set up. No cyno no algae. It's your call to what u want to do. But usually I use my water up to 5 tds, without problems.

Making water now. Im getting 24tds coming in, then it dropped to 0 and 0tds going out. I guess, it needed some time to break in.

When you replace the membrane it takes some time/volume of water to fully saturate and become 100% effective. Depending on the quality of your water and PSI I recommend replacing carbon/sediment filters every 6 months and that should help keep your membrane strong and healthy for 2-3 years. Take out the DI resin when "breaking in" a new membrane so you don't use it on this "break in" water :).
