Rodi unit works best when under certain pressure. If it’s too low then it won’t produce the “cleanest” water. To fix this you can buy a pump that will increase the pressure.

The pressure certainly makes a huge difference in the waste water to pure water ratio although I don't know the ideal pressure off hand. I bought an Aquatic Life RO/DI filter system (100 GPD) a few years ago and ran it at street pressure (approx 45 psi). I lost over 4 gallons of waste water for every gallon of pure water. Finally I bought the booster pump by the same company and the ratio was better than 50% pure to waste. And the TDS was unaffected. If you're metered like most of California, it's worth paying another $150 for the booster pump as opposed to dumping all that water down the drain.
