New rock flower anemone covered by sand

Hi I got my first rock flower nem last night. He is beautiful! A little bigger than a quarter. I put him on a rock close to the sand bed and he grabbed on and stayed there for a few hours looking all puffy and happy. Sometime during the night he moved down to the sand bed and sand has drifted on top and almost completely covered him. I can only see his outer edges and they don't seem to be puffy anymore. Should I just let him be? Or try to to move him? Should I just try to blow the sand off him with a turkey baster? Thanks!

They always try to get there foot to the bottom of the sand. I had one do that just dig him up and put it in a part or the tank with not as deep a sand bed.

I have my on a rock. See if you can get a flat rock with grooves.

I blew the sand off him and moved some away from him so its not as deep where he is. He seems to be doing okay for now.

Love these nems! I'd let him attach to a separate rock from the rest of rock work first if you can. They wander about, not as much as my bubble tip but they will move around until they find a happy spot. In my case it was to the back of my tank where I only see the skirts lol. Gl and enjoy!

He was on a separate rock at first but it was a pretty smooth one. We have another rock that has a shallow bowl shape kind of. We might try moving him to that if we can get him off the glass easily

We were unable to remove the anemone from the glass. We tried using a turkey baster to blow air at him and annoy him in hopes that he would let go, but he didn't. I guess he just really likes it there. We removed all the sand from around him so he has his only little crater in the sand. Hopefully he will grow quick enough that he isn't in danger of getting buried any more.

I just bought 4 'ultra' ones recently and they're awesome. So awesome that I don't want to commit to a single place which as folks on here have stated...they will move where they please. My solution is to find smaller rocks with enough holes where they can dig their feet into to feel secure. I move these into temporary places for a couple days so they settle down with the intent to mount the smaller rocks onto bigger ones giving me the option to remove as needed. So far so good. I have "mobile" rock-nem-rocks. =)

I got my 1st 3 a couple weeks ago.

I placed them in a 1/2” pvc end cap and placed flush with the sand where I wanted them

Makes it easy to move them as well for a rescape!

I am currently having the same problem with my rfa. How did you resolve this matter?
