New RODI leak help

[Miami Reef]

It literally came in the mail yesterday, and I’ve only been getting more and more problems with it.

How do I possibly fix this leak? The smallest amount of water will cause it to leak.

Have you tried removing the pipe from the fitting and then reseating it incase it's not fitted correctly.

I saw you push up on it in the video, but is the tube inserted all the way?

Yes to both of you. I even tried a fifth time just to be sure.

Take the line out once and look inside the fitting? is there an o ring or anything inside? Better yet can you snap a picture of it?

Well as you say that you have tried refitting the pipe in the connection multiple times then the only conclusion I can think of is that it's a defective connector or the pipe is the wrong size for the connector as that type of connector is available for several pipe sizes.

OOO good thought, if he cut the line with a scissors or something that could definitely produce these results.

Yeah that was my thought too, I would cut an inch off the end of the line with a very sharp razor blade that will cut through it without pushing down too hard and make sure you have no burs

Those John Guest fittings are famous for leaking. You may need to replace it. Try making sure the tubing is straight.

If that's all the pressure you used to push in the tube, then it's not enough. Those fittings will go in with some pressure making you think it's connected, but in reality it needs to be pressed in further. Also as others have said, make sure the tube has a clean and square cut.

I did not cut it, and I pushed it as far is it would go. No worries. This product was cheap, so I have nothing but all expectations of failure. I’m returning it and getting a better quality one.
