When I get my rodi system should I do a large water change or small one to get the impurities out?

Depends on what made it in. If copper is a concern cuprasorb might be the best bet. Otherwise water changes no larger than 30% or more than twice a week. Keep an eye that nutrients don't bottom in the process.
