hello, all im new to the saltwater world and i was wondering if i would get any tips .
right now i have a 1 gallon set up with some rocks i found at the beach. i also found some quartz crystal as well i just really want to know what i should do and should to to make a successful saltwater aquarium and a little help on my hydrometer what should it be at

What do you want to accomplish with a saltwater aquarium?

A one gallon tank will not be able to sustain and fish, long term. Maintaining a stable environment will also be extremely tricky with a single gallon aquarium.

i figured as much D: from seeing and reading about other members tanks.
i would like to know if it is okay to collect live rock from the beach if that is even possible i can upload pic of the stuff i have
and what salt mix is best purified natural seawater or salt mix

Welcome to the forum! I would recommend spending lots of time reading all you can before getting started.. A 1 gallon IMO would be a mistake as a starter tank, there are lots of small all in one reef ready tanks that would be a much better choice for your first tank. Your hydrometer should read about 1.026

Welcome we're glad your here.i agree that for a new saltie a 1 gallon tank is not the best to start with.Do some more homework and start with a bigger tank you'll be better off.
