Is this just hair algae?
It looks different from all the pictures I’ve seen and it’s over growing my tank. Tank is 75 gal and is about 3 months old. This problem came out of no where and is getting out of hand quick lol. Any ideas on how to get a handle on it? I’ve bought some flux rx and am waiting on some feed back before I dose to make sure that it is a good idea lol. Please I would appreciate any help, thanks

It appears to just be hair algae, yes. What do you have for cleanup crew?
I have 2 turbo snails 5 astrea snails and, I plan on adding some hermit crabs tomorrow.
Do you think I need more for a 75 gallon tank? Or should do you have any recommendations on anything else to add?
Are there any fish that will help?

reduce white light intensity, pull as much as you can by hand and in addition to current snails add: 3- turbo, 3 nerite and some carribean blue leg hermits. Assure also that your Phosphate is not elevated.
Are you using RODI water or tap water from the faucet?

Keep an eye on nearby windows with sunlight or even diffused sunlight coming through. Also keep a moderate amount of flow throughout your tank. No dead spots. By the looks of the photo, you can take the rocks out and scrub them with a toothbrush in a separate container using your tank water. Good luck.

Okay thank you!, and my first 3 gallons of top off was de-chlorinated tap water but now I have switched to RODI

GHA, or green hair algae.

Dry white rock, going to get a lot worse before it even remotely gets better.

Up the CUC, manual removal as much as you can, and keep an eye on phosphate levels.

As another person that started with dry rock I agree with this. My tank looked like hell for maybe 6 months. Once it matured it all started going away.

Manual removal and keep up with the water changes.
