Hi, this is my first post in a forum and I don't know if its in the right place, but let's go!!

I'm rebuilding my tank 180x80x65cm (70,87"x31,5"x25,6") and thinking what equipments I should buy/upgrade. This is my current list:

Water Circulation: 2x Vortech MP40 (old)
Return Pump: 2x Eheim Compact 3000 (old)
Calcium Reactor: Bubble Magus Calcium Reactor C120-AT (old)
Skimmer: Vertex Alpha 200 (new)
Lighting: 2x Ecotech Radion Pro (new)
UV: Emperor Aquatics Smart UV 40Watt + Eheim Compact 2000 (new)
Controller: Neptune Apex + WXM (new)
Auto Top-off: Auto AquaSmart (new)

I'm still in doubt about the skimmer (Vertex is a little expensive)and if 2x Ecotech is enough... I choose Ecotech because it seems to be a excellent LED and with a Apex WXM, I can control both LED and the Vortech.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hello jdai, and welcome to R2R!!

I have a 72" tank and run the following:
-3x EcoTech Radion Gen3
-2x EcoTech Vortech MP40wES
-Neptune Apex w/WXM

I love the control-ability of the EcoTech products with my Apex. It's a good choice, and I recommend you continue with that direction!

One thing I would recommend is AT LEAST one more EcoTech Radion Pro. My three fit perfectly over my 125gal tank. 72.5in X 18.5in X 23in (184.15cm X 46.99cm X 58.42cm). Originally, I bought four lights but with only 47cm width, three were just right.

Hope I helped a little.... :)

Good Luck!

Thanks for your help, I think i will need 3 Radions as I love SPS! :)
How do you place them? With 80cm width, I dont know if placing them horizontally will be enough...

Great question! I mounted mine with option (1). I used two Long Rail kits, but it made them just a bit too long. In hindsight, I wish I would have bought two short rail kits.

For yours, only being 70", I would suggest the two short rail kits. With the middle Radion being perfectly center on your tank, this "should" space all three lights in equal thirds.

But, MEASURE MEASURE and MEASURE again....and remember that the center of each light should be at equal thirds of the tank. You will be happy that you did!! :)

Some pictures of my tank and corals now. I took them with my iphone6 with a red filter.

I need some help from R2R! My zoas was growing very well, but since 2 weeks ago, I noticed that my watermelon and chocolate zoas was losing some polyps. I thought that it was just my imagination, but it wasnt!!! I'm losing polyps very fast and it's creating a hole in my garden :(

My water parameters are all fine and the zoas are the only ones dying... My phosphate is 0,03 and Nitrate 0,25, Ca 400, Kh 9, ph 8,3, temp 79F.

Please help me same them! :(
