I am thinking about changing up my scape. I don't have a ton on width to work with but a lot of height. The tanks dimensions are 30L x 12W x 22 H (inches). I just wanted to get some other opinions/suggestions.

by no means i;m good at this but i just recently complete my scape. One advise i can give is break up the larger rock pieces. It will give you more flexibly. if you tank is is 12W, the rock in the last photo is maybe 9-10W. If you use 5-6W pieces, you can play with depth a lot more.

I can't remember if that bottom piece is 1 big piece or a couple smaller pieces put together. I think it's mostly one. Either way it is a wide piece. I would like to get away from the wall looking scape. Just not sure if I want 2 islands or more of a slope from the left to the right.

I don;t know how to share a thread. Search for "First time aquascape with shelf rock - help" in the forum. I started the thread a month or so ago. It have pictures from first attempt. Took me several tries and feedback from the this forum is very helpful.
Here you go.

All you have to do is go to the page you want and highlight the full address. Control C to copy the Control V to paste it.

I just read through the thread. Is the last one what you ended up going with? I really like that look. I know I just posted it so haven't gotten a ton of feedback yet either, so I really appreciate your feedback!

Definitely going to follow along on that. I would love a larger tank but the wife isn't too keen on that idea at the moment, something about too many fish tanks in the house. I'm not really sure what all that is about
