Are these spikes cause it's angry or what?

Got a really full orange scaly yesterday at the LFS and brought it home. Had 5 or 6 apitasia on the bottom rock side so applied the apitasia x to it and let it sit in the container and water over night. Put it in the tank today but am concerned.

Why did you let it sit in the container over night? The spikes are the skeleton. Im sure it isn't happy. Give it low flow and low light. They like to eat also. If I don't feed mine every week it will deflate.

Lads rep told me it would be ok as they get shipped overnight anyway and to bring it in to him to kill the aiptasia check it out , so I figured ok. Know better now, but think it may be that plus the aipx. Will not do again for sure. A lot to learn in this hobbie/passion. Thanks

They do get shipped over night, But he failed to tell you with either ice packs or heat packs to keep the temp somewhat stable. I'm sure the temp dropped. Everyone learns from their mistakes

Yea at room temp but not w heater. kept it in the container on top of the aqurium which here in San diego is around 72-75 in the apt last night. I see it starting to protrude its polyps in the middle and open its mouth so may be liking the dark, phyto, oyster n rotifer mix I made for him, my dendro, trach, etc.

Gonna have to baby it along and loving care from what it looks like. Lesson learned.

What should be done next time to kill the ap and hitchhikers?

too much aptasia-x mixed into too little water volume and the scolly bathed in it overnight. I hope it recovers.

Scoly looking better after my rookie bonehead move!

Well, getting the traumatized scoly (my brand new on!) into the tank after rinsing with fresh tank water is showing signs of hope. I'll see if these photos old it and my tank attach.

Yea, I bleached out a Acro yesterday with the new light also. A day for learning. Dang
