Hello everyone!

I just recieved this Scoly today and noticed that parts of its skeleton is poking through??

I ordered it online through a trusted source so I'm just wondering if the skeleton poking like this is just due to stress when being shipped.

I've never had a Scoly before so any information would help.

I JUST got it acclimated to my tank and the light is only on for the photo.

Would target feeding it help its flesh fill in the skeleton? Or should I be worried??

Thank you!!

wow thats a really nice scoly. It looks fine, just stressed from shipping. I would just leave it alone, dont feed new corals for a few days until they are acclimated to your tank. But otherwise, scoly is one of the more fun corals to feed IMO. Scoly is pretty hardy, I think this should recover.

Thank you so much!
I'll leave it alone and keep a close eye on it!!

I am so excited to feed it but I'll refrain for a few days

That is normal. Depends on how inflated they are. Mine starts to show that before lights out. Rest of the day they don't show.

So glad to hear this is normal!
Had me so worried, I learn so much from this community. Thank you for sharing!

How's your scoly doing now?
What's your nitrate and phosphate level?

It since has inflated and is doing a lot better now. Eats like crazy!

I haven't tested today but my Nitrates were pretty high at like 20ppm, Phosphates were around 0.1 or so. Definitely due for a water change.
Just got new RODI filters so I'm in the process to change the water out throughout the week.
