Just got my first Scoly. Do they normally take a while to acclimate? I have had it for about 3 days now but still showing some of it's skeleton. At night the feeders are coming out though.

I'm a novice when it comes to scoly. For the one I got, I drip acclimate a bit because my water is high in nutrient, and flip it in. It look as good as in the picture I saw. I feed it a few mysis every now and then.

Nope. It was open. The only time I see it close is when it eats.

Be sure to feed only once every two weeks as you don't want the food to rot inside. My scoly is very happy with my doing this. It will take a while for the recession to go away. I had just fed the tank and he said "I'm Hungry"!!;Doctor;Doctor

What should I feed? Is usually dump and target feed coral frenzy.

Also should I only feed when tentacles are out at night?

So I have the top off a 20 ounce pepsi bottle I cut off and I give him a small piece of krill and the put the bottle over him to prevent theft. You can feed anytime by putting the food onto him, they will sense it and gulp it down.
