Guys i'm a true newbie and on a budget always looking for an awesome deal. I had an Ebay 150 protein skimmer. I paid like $30. It did a decent job. According to the packaging it said it was rated for 150 gallons but it was no bigger that a phosban 150 reactor. I recently acquired a SAC 301 PROTEIN skimmer for $35. Any thoughts on the switch? The new skimmer makes a ton of bubbles compared to the other one. Let me know your thoughts

I have the SCA 301 in my tank. Works great. The bubbles might be because you need to break it in.

From what I've read the SCA301 is a very good skimmer. Break in time for skimmers vary but a week or two isn't uncommon. A vinegar bath might speed up the break in time.
