It's been a while since I have posted on here, i've had some trouble with my 55g, but am ready for a reboot with a new tank.

I picked up a 75g from Petco's dollar per gallon sale, couldn't resist, and i have decided to make some changes from my last set up.

Previous setup used an eshopps overflow box, U tube - non drilled style, and my wife has had the last flood allowed. I don't blame her, if only she knew of all the floods that were cleaned up before she found out. It also had a long run to the sump in my laundy/fish room which is not adjacent to my tank location.

Both of these things i plan to change.

I am currently trying to talk my wife into an in wall build right into my fish/laundry room which will eliminate a lot of hassle with plumbing that i have dealt with previously. If this doesn't happen i am trying to set it up right outside so i only have to go through the wall.

I am also planning to drill this tank. So far the plan is a C2C with 3 drain Bean Animal style drain. I am hoping to get some insight into this style from people who have experience with them. I really want the skimming you get from the C2C but i am not too fond of the idea of the huge box all the way across the back obstructing light.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this approach? I am not even opposed to something completely different at this point. If I have missed any crucial information, which i am sure that i have, just ask and I will respond as soon as I am able.

Thanks in advance.

Look at the way the Bean Animal was originally built; with an overflow box inside the tank and three drilled holes with pipes outside. No big box on the outside, just plumbing, glass overflow box on the inside that can be a DIY project. Pretty cheap if you are going to DIY it, and not an eyesore either, at least not compared to an external overflow box.

This was the basic plan i have going so far is exactly like bean animal's write up.

What about for the return? I am thinking about drilling through the glass and through the internal overflow box for a cleaner look. Anyone have experience with this? Maybe some pictures of what finished product would look like?
