Hi All,

So I'm back in the hobby. I just set up a Red Sea Reefer 300xl yesterday. I used about 30 gallons of "Natural Sea Water" and then I purchased a guys Livestock,LR and water which made up the other 50 gallons or so. His reef looked fairly healthy but it turns out his nitrates are around 50ppm. Any whoo currently I am worried that my PH is low 7.64 and my Alk is around 7. I have some Brightwell Aquatics Alk buffer. Should I go ahead and dose or let the aquarium do it's thing and hopefully even out?

I just tested my calcium as well. It is also very low, like below 300. I will preform a water change asap. How big, or "how small and often" would you recommend? I plan on getting dosing equipment but didn't think I would need to worry about it this early on.

I do not think aged water helps, you may have well just mixed up fresh water my friend.

But anyways I would do daily water changes, maybe 5 gallons a day, until parameters are back in range.
