Dont know where this goes, so i will throw it here.

I am downsizing my system. Currently I have 2 125g in wall tanks plumbed through a common 80g sump with a 75g frag system. Problem is, its in my basement and it is never enjoyed there. So I am disassembling it and moving to a 150g tall in my living room. Still planning on a sump in basement as well as filtration and a frag tank.

Had some free time at work and did this using sketchup. While it isnt done, I wouldnt mind some feedback. I need to replace the return lines with 1.5" pipe, but you can see where I am coming from. I also need to finish my filtration lines.

orange = CL system
Gray = overflow
Blue = Return
Green = Filtration

Looks good to me overall. What pumps will you be running? I'd probably avoid tying those overflows into one standpipe unless you're increasing the size at the tee (or you're absolutely certain you're going to run low flow through it). My .02.

Thinking my L1 is reefcrest mode for the CL. Looking at possibly using a dark w/baldor motor for the return from basement. A COR20 (green system) running the skimmer, 2 BRS jumbos (bio and HC GFO) and a frag tank. Flow on the green will be regulated using Spears gate valves.

Definitely will have more unions. I just did not have time to put them all in before leaving work that particular day, and I wanted to post it to get opinions. I need to reconfigure the sump returns as well.

Also, I do not think I will be putting ball valves on the CL returns. I guess I could if I wanted to direct the flow, but not entirely sure it is necessary. And the actual overflow system (gray) needs to be reworked. I am goign to be going through an existing hardwood floor so I want to minimize hole cuts if at all possible. Thats why the overflow is combined to 1 pipe.
