I took a page from @mehaffydr and decided to build a locker.
I got the same container he did. It cost about 8 dollars from target.
I also added two optical eyes from Neptune.
You can see in the picture above that I installed a high level switch and have drilled the bottom hole for the other switch. I can use the top switch to shut off the skimmer automatically and cause an alarm on the apex. I can then pump the locker down remotely and watch for the bottom sensor to indicate the switch is open. It will take about 5 minutes and I can have the locker sump pump shutoff automatically when the bottom sensor opens. (I have the locker sump pump set to OFF normally. I wouldn’t want the skimmer to overflow and the locker to pump down automatically over and over again.)
I used a 2 inch bulkhead and 2 low profile strainers to create the compartment to put activated charcoal. This should allow air to get out without the smell. I hope that works.
I used 1/2 inch push connects and unions to manage the skimmate getting into the bucket and out of the bucket, along with a cheap pump I found that takes suction off the bottom. The pump output line is running outside under the garage door into a bush.
