New Skimmer Causing Micro Bubbles

How bout a video clip.
Thanks for posting the video. You should be fine. Your fish will be irritated but they’ll get a little extra O2 for a few days. Also keep in mind that you might not have a lot of waste to skim so you might not get much in your cup. Keep us posted!

Well the skimmer has now overflowed with water twice, but now it's actually skimming. I've got it wide open and it seems to be doing just right. Still getting a crazy amount of micro bubbles. I don't remember having this much trouble with my last skimmer, but it was a HOB, not an internal.

Sheesh... I know you're still breaking the skimmer, you do seem to have a lot typically the only time I get overflow is when my water level is off, dosing, or my the water return is blocked.

#reefsquad can anyone help?

I appreciate all the help. It seems to be calming down a bit, but I'm still a little paranoid now that it's going to overflow again, and this time it's pulling skimmate, so I really don't want that stuff back in the tank. I may raise it up a tad more, cause I am near the higher end of recommended water level.

I have the same issue with the same skimmer. It's a K2-50 in a 3 week old tank. My tank just have rocks and some snails and crabs. Recently (like 5-6 days ago) start to "suffer" a bacteria bloom fallow by a algae bloom. I add a uv light 3 days ago and the skimmer yesterday. You will see on the pictures that my skimmer is 7"-8" deep and is doing a huge amount of micro bubbles.

So, if I understand. This is normal in the break in step and should go away after?

This don't happen or was no significant with my other MagTool in my 15g nano.

So there will be some bubbles during break in, but they should go away. My issue and opinion that I finally settled on, was that the skimmer didn't have enough room to function properly in my AIO chamber, I have since removed this skimmer and have been happily using a Tunze DOC 9004 DC skimmer. This skimmer has worked perfectly with my system.
