New skimmer for Mixed reef 180

So looking to get a new skimmer for a 180 I am down to either the new Reefer 600/900 or the Nyos Quantum 220 also my sump is about 9 to 10 inches of water were the skimmer will go.

So yeah not sure if this would be considered heavy load or medium I have a 36" Bashsea sump with a deep skimmer section. So I was reading that the Reefer 900 works in 8 to 9" inches, but wondering if it would to much. I Also heard the Nyos are great but pricey and the main thing is I have to buy from BRS because of store credit so any recommendations?

But what I noticed that there were other skimmer threads started after mine that got multiple comments. what am I doing wrong here? is it the skimmers in general so no body cared to comment or am I not liked lol.

I have no experience with the two you mentioned but I can’t recomend Tunze enough. The 9415 or 9430DC would be perfect for your tank. Once you go Tunze, you’ll never go back

That's a heavy stocked tank. I ran a classic 200in reef octopus on a predator 180 and I also used a tunze 9410dc. Both handled the job like champs. The 9410 was a tad small but was by far the best skimmer I've had. True set it and forget it.

If I was looking to spend nyos 220 money. I would grab a reef octopus sro 3000int or the tunze 9430 no doubt in my mind. You can get both for under 600 and I guarantee you'll love either one. Nyos are so over priced its not even funny

Yeah my biggest thing is water height the Red sea Reefer 900 work in 9 inches of water. the Nyos works in 8"-10 I believe. But now I am kind eyeing the new Maxspect Aeraqua Duo Skimmer with 7-9.5inches coming out seems neat lol.

Yeah I looked in the the Reef Octopus they seem not to work as good in higher water and my skimmer section on the Bashsea sump is 9" to 10"

You know... I started this 180g custom corner tank running an ASM G3 skimmer with the Cedric5000 pump. After about 8 months of high nutrients, I upgraded the sump to 50g and I added a Reef Octopus skimmer and so I was dealing with emptying 2 skimmer cups every couple of days. And of course, the noise! Yikes, the Db increase on the TV just to compete with the noise! The ability to fine tune in so many ways, this new AerAqua Skimmer is a big plus. It's nearly dead quiet, a huge plus. I know it's only been a few days, but... I would highly recommend this skimmer! Oh, and because I already have two Gyres with the ICV6 controller, I added the skimmer to the iOS app on my iPhone. It was a seamless addition, no hiccups. Very cool. The one question I have, according to what I've read, is about the "sweet spot" buttons on the side of the body. The water level in my sump is about 4" above the sweet spot buttons, however the water level on the inside of body is right at the sweet spot buttons. Do I raise the skimmer so that the water level on the outside of the skimmer is at the buttons? Or does the sweet spot mean for the water level inside the skimmer? I'm following the instructions that say to leave the adjustments until after a one week break in period. So far, so great!
