Hi guys, in your opinion which skimmer could be the best option for My 48x24x24 full sps reef tank?
Red sea skimmer 900?
Ultra reef akula 200?
Dalua?
Others?

which is the quietest and the most performing?

I own the Red Sea rsk 600 and it freaking rocks. Quiet and cleans so dang good I have a Red Sea reefer 350. Although I have not tried the others you mentioned

I like my Tunze 9415. Seems quiet enough, but I have a pretty noisy basement sump. It can be goofy if you want to hook up a co2 scrubber though.

Things I consider when buying a skimmer:

1. How easy does the cup come off? (I have had some that did not want to come off)
2. How easy can you clean the skimmer and skimmer pump? (Internal pumps obviously require more steps to get to than external but you have a smaller footprint with internal.)
3. How much space do I have for a skimmer?
4. What is my total water volume with the sump? (I run a 150 gallon rubbermaid stock tank so that makes a difference)

I recently just went through this process and decided on a Tunze 9430 DC and heres why. The cup comes right off, there is no ring holding it on. It does not overflow, its designed not to. The pump is external so its easy to get to.

I have been looking at the Ultra Reef skimmers myself , and they are quite impressive . I currently run a LifeReef skimmer , but was think of going DC with a reliable skimmer company. I know I could go DC on the LifeReef but I just think looking at Ultra Reef and the white milky foam in the skimmer cone , it just seems like it will really skim like a beast

My opinion is somewhat biased (because we are the US & Canadian distributor) but I can honestly say that in the 33+ years of reefing that Ultra Reef is the best skimmer I have ever used. We carry a lot of brands and they all have a place in our lineup but my personal favorite is Ultra Reef.
