Hi Everyone, we have a CADE PR400 tank of which we have just bought new. we have set it up just so we can have some fish in a different room as our main tank is in the entrance way. we set it up with its supplied Coral box S150 Skimmer and got it all going with some Marine pure from the other tank, just as luck had it, we got a pair of hand raised clowns from a local bloke shutting down. anyway to cut a long story short, we let the skimmer do its thing with its micro bubbles but after 4 days it was still going. I done some research on the skimmer, one person made a few mods of which I tried but it did not work, but after having a really god look, the skimmer has an Atman PH-1100 LPH pump on it, all the other Coral Box S150 skimmers I have seen only have an PH-550 LPH pump on them ? I am thinking maybe somehow the skimmer was built with the wrong pump on it ? here are a few Pics so you get a bit of an idea, the big issue is the micro bubbles make their way into the tank after going through the 2 filters and into the return chamber then display tank. We are in Australia and I cant find another pump here or anywhere to to point. can someone either direct me to someone who knows about these skimmers or a supplier of the Atman pumps ? Any Advise would be greatly Appreciated. P.S I only had the skimmer in the front of the tank while I was trying to sort it out, its usually in the rear compartment. Ideally I would like a DC controllable pump for it.

Cheers

Sorry I can't help with a pump, but I can offer two things you may want to try. First is try using a piece of foam like the black foam around the skimmer in front of the intake of the pump. Second would be to restrict the air comping in from the tube. Where the silencer is add a small piece of airline tubing then add a valve to restrict the amount of air the pump can draw.

Thanks Mark, I have tried both, I did find if I restricted flow on the water it worked a bit better but I could not slow it down enough, which makes me think If I can get a 550 LPH pump ( preferably in DC adjustable ) I could maybe get it to work. I did try a valve on airline but it done nothing except make the water run higher.
