New skimmer please help me!m

I just got my tank its finished cyxling 4 weeks old. Stocked with fish. Got nyos 120 quantum skimmer and the water level for my skimmer is 9.5 inches recommended is 8 inches. I have to rise it before i break it in as its new?

Based on what you've shared, it seems that you will want to raise it to at least 8 inches and maybe even more at first. There are skimmer stands that can be purchased or you can make a DIY skimmer stand with egg crate and PVC pipe (or comparable materials). Good luck!
