New skimmer

I just got my reef octopus 110int in the mail today. Should I wash it's, soak it in something, or just put it in the sump. It's a brand new tank, hasn't even cycled yet.

I rinse mine out in ro water just to be safe

yup, rinse everything. you never know what dust has settled or what has gotten spilled on it from production until it arrived at your door.

Rinsing it will decrease break in time as it gets rid of oils residues from production. It also handles any dust that has settled on it...
