I am in the market for a used skimmer, (a better one than I have now) and my LFS may have found one for me if it will fit in my sump. I have never heard of this skimmer and wanted alittle input on it, if you don't mind, he says its a good one but he dosn't know the model # yet. Its a ETSS skimmer. Anyone heard of this brand, is it a good skimmer, is it durable are prone to problems??

Old school. ETSS do make some good skimmers. The only problem to me is the constant adjusting that is required to make them skim well, and the size pump it takes to properly run them. Needle/Pin Wheel skimmers are a more efficient way to skim IMO.

just bought a bermuda bps-3c and it broke in over night and starting pulling a deep gunk out . it's a small footprint and very quite. check em out

Tank is a 125g Sump holds about 15g I want a better skimmer than I have now, but I am going to (down the road) get a bigger tank, say a 250g, so I want to get a skimmer that will work in the new tank. My LFS is checking to see if the foot print of the ETSS Skimmer will fit in my sump.

I might be able to help you out. I have a basically new Reef Octopus Pro 300 in sump skimmer, rated 400 gal. . It was only tested once and made sure it works. I planned to used for my 350 gal system, but didn't make it. Let me know if you are interested. I also have a brand new KZ revolution M cone skimmer if you are looking for a even fancier one. Both my skimmers were posted in the selling forum.

For that size tank I would suggest an MSX200

MSX200 Marine Solutions Online Store

I Run a MSX250 but between Display, Sump and Frag tank
I have about 250-300 gallons in my system.

You want to properly size your skimmer to your system.

But be aware many manufactures overrate their skimmers.

The MSX skimmers work quite well and are resonably priced.
