New Skimmer

I recently bought a new skimmer (well used but new to me)! It is an E.T.S.S. evolution 500. I am running a mag 9.5 on this bad boy and all I can say is wow!!! Here is what they are new $399.00 i got it for $75.00!

they are good skimmers but the pumps needed to run it properly are energy hogs and add quite of bit of heat into the tank are the negatives.
 
There is a guy who has been trying to sell a ETSS 600 on CL for $125 but there have been no takers. I have thought about buying it, but it requires minimum an iwaki 40
 
Yep, ddrafts and becketts are great skimmers, especially for large tanks. If your ok with the wattage than go for it. In states like IN electricity isn't to bad so its not going to make a huge difference when its 50watts vs 100w. I mainly look at amps myself : )
