I have seeded my new Skimz MBR157 reactor with a thin layer of chaeto on each shelf. What is the recommended light cycle to get started? And just how long should I eventually run the light cycle?

It makes sense to me to start it around 4-6 hours and slowly ramp up my light cycle length. I've read where some have over done it too soon. Just curious if others have any experience they can share? And just how long of a cycle would people recommend once its acclimated? Is there too long?

I have the Skimz reactor as well.

Start our 4 hours for a week

If it’s growing and green and healthy, do the next week at 6 hours.

Repeat every week until you are running around 12 hours opposite your light schedule.

If nutrients drop too low, reduce the light time
