Hi all,

Ive been getting some soft corals lately as the colours have been stunning in my lfs.

I know when leathers are first added to the tank, they can sulk for quite some time. I had a devils finger lay down for a week before propping backing upright and extending polyps.

I think I have a neon green colt coral, that tomorrow would have been a week since adding to my tank and is laying down on the side. I know it’s been shredding a layer as it had a waxy surface etc

But as this one is higher up in light, I’m not sure if I should keep waiting or move it lower? I’ve attached a photo.

I would give it more flow if possible.

I second the above suggestions. Oftentimes with large softies, with extremely low flow they almost collapse under their own weight. Flow helps to keep them straight.

Oddly enough, my coral opened up today and stood upright and extended the polyps, it’s mounted an angle

Anyone know why type it is? I’m not entirely sure, Sinularia?

Mine likes flow and frozen food.

FYI, they shed. Don't freak if that happens. I blow mine with a turkey baster at the end of the shedding cycle.

I am also inclined to think Sinularia, when it opens completely is should be easier to tell. :-)
