if anyone can hook up another sohal, drop me a line please

Sorry for your loss. Now you will have them meds for the next time. Give me a few minutes here and I will see if I can find another sohal for you.

Yes, never had a bacterial infection here before so I didn't have the medication ready. That won't ever happen again. And as soon as any new fish arrives and doesn't look 100% clean, I will be posting pictures on here immediately for opinions.

Wow, really appreciate the assistance in locating another one. These forums are amazing

Nothing that I found but I would throw a "ISO" ad out their in the livestock selling forum on here. Their may be a few guys willing to sell.

Hope this helps. I would never rule out your LFS. Maybe they can get you one as well.

Unfortunately, the online retailers don't ship to Puerto Rico for some reason even though we are US territory and it's pretty much the same as shipping to Miami. The guy who does my maintenance is a good friend and has his own LFS and basically supplies me with everything. He is always on the lookout for the species on my list but this one is just very few and far between from the wholesalers due to the habitat and quotas which I am glad her in place so that they are not overcollected. I'll try posting an ad as you mentioned. Thanks

you can try ibluewater.com, they ship worldwide [emoji4]

Wow, awesome. Thanks. Anybody here have any experience dealing with them?
I guess the reason for live aquaria not shipping to you is that this comes as air parcel and those air parcel aren't cheap. well that's only my guess but did you ask them about shipping to your side, perhaps you can offer them that you pay the extra cost to your side.

ibluewater.com will try their best to satisfy you but again the cost of the shipping could be some amount and way more as your desired animal but you have to check with them direct and if you can't find the desired fish then, again, just drop them a mail with your desired animal, coral, invert, fish or what so ever. if you have some friends who are in the same hobby then someone may be interested in something special as well and the shipping cost could be much less.

cheers [emoji4]

Yes, that part I understand. I simply meant if anyone here has dealt with them and had good experiences? Never heard of them before and it looks like a fairly simple website so was just curious

oh, I thought the term "they will try their best" explained it. yes I did and was satisfied [emoji4]

Great thanks!
my pleasure

another idea, you can check with some shops in Miami whether they have your desired fish and fly their your self and bring the fish as hand luggage. you need to check with the airlines and airports for rules and regulations.

and yes that is my utmost silliest idea I can come up with. [emoji15]

cheers

So now my question is, do I leave the copper and antibiotics in my quarantine tank and, If so, for how long in order to make sure that the water is free of parasites and bacteria? I tend to keep water running in my QT so that it is always ready for any new arrival as opposed to having to empty it out when not in use and then prepare a bunch of water since it is 75 gallons.

I would run carbon to clean it up because you usually raise to therapeutic levels over the corse of 3-4days not 3-4min. JMO

What I meant was that I don't plan on having any fish in quarantine for the time being so if there was any parasites or bacteria left in the water from the one who just died, should I leave the medication in there to kill anything that remained and then, eventually, run carbon to clean all the medication up before introducing a new fish?

Let's see what the expert @Humblefish has to say. I know he was here already but we will bring it too his attention again. I would say you are okay to go since it had been roughly 48, but I am by no means an expert.

Technically if you leave the Cu at therapeutic, velvet should be eliminated within 2 weeks. Any harmful bacteria should be gone by then too. But personally, whenever I lose a fish in QT I like to hit the reset button by breaking it completely down, sterilizing everything with bleach, etc. Just gives me peace of mind and my next batch of fish a clean slate going into QT.
