Alright guys, I have been in the hobby a year and a half, I am still testing all parameters everyday or 2, so I am clearly in it for the long haul and still tentative about it. So here is the question.

I am looking for really unique fish, a little more on the expensive side, looking for beauty in the tank. It is a peaceful tank. My most recent purchase was a blonde Naso tang. Not looking for fish like a peppermint Angel though lol.

Nah that Candy will hide all of the time. I also wonder how long they live. I heard they have a short lifespan.

I have a 125 gallon, a few Bartlett anthias, yellow, blue and blonde Naso tank, two spot goby, 4 chromis, and 2 banggi's that bang every month, never get past 10 days of incubation though. 1 CBB, and one cleaner wrasse. I tend to buy small and try to grow.

Let's say 12 hermits (plus or minus) one cleaner shrimp, turbo snail, red sea star, and 2 emeralds

Forgot my 2 clowns that never leave the safety of their hammer that they have staked claim to

Mystery Wrasse (kinda like a big sixline though so be prepared for a little aggression), but you may also be at your fish limit too, you've got quite a bit of stuff already. That Naso is also going to take up a lot of space and probably need a bigger tank as it grows.

My vote would be for some sort of wrasse. I personally like candycane hogs but there are also a wide variety of fairy wrasse that run the gamut on price/rarity to choose from.

This is why i am now looking for the nicer specimens, not to much more room in the tank to expand, maybe one or 2 more depending on the size of the new inhabitants. My gear under the tank is good to 500 Gallons so I will be upgrading in the future when I get a more permanent residents.

Have you ever kept one? They are quite bold and certainly do not hide much once they settle in and, like other basslets, can live 10-15+ years.

This is what I have found to be true with them.

Other show fish possibilities include:
Lineatus wrasse
Borbonius anthias
Purple tilefish

I do like the tile fish, the lfs just had 2 in, they were full adult size, but that's kind of what I am looking for, something with vibrant colour like that.

Beautiful look!

Judging by the number and size of corals and the 2 years you mentioned, you could have a few too many fish. (Meaning too many too soon...not too many for the tank per se.) Was this tank started with dead rock? Any significant signs of coraline algae growth since it was set up?

What are the dimensions of that tank, BTW?

125 gallons ...... Imperial? Assume based on your spelling that you are outside the US. I'm really into wrasses these days - so many interesting ones to choose from.

So I picked up a barbonius anthias months ago and the poor guy had swim bladder issues and ended up dying, so then I went last week and picked up a chevron tang, he's about a inch and a half and a beauty. I haven't seen him in a few days, he got a little beat up by my other tangs when he went in but for the most part they weren't paying to much attention to him. I might get home before the lights go out but if I don't see him tonight I will see him tomorrow night
