What about using a HOB filter with some pads and carbon to clear the water up? Something like an aquaclear. I would just use it long enough to do the job.

Any suggestions on clearing up the white/milky tint is appreciated.

Carbon and a polishing pad would do the trick. Just turn it offline after a couple days.

Added an Aquaclear 70 with double filter sponge and carbon. Will give it a week and see if it polishes off the water.

Side note: I am running 2x Hydra 52s 12 inches off the water. Is this a good height or should I move them up/down?

Did a small water change and tested the levels again. I did switch to Fritz RPM blue box instead of the coral pro.

Salinity - 1.025
PH - 7.9
Nitrite - 24 ppb or .024ppm
Phosphate - .024ppm
Alkalinity - 8.1
Calcium - 454
Magnesium - 1400
Ammonia - .2
Nitrate - 2

I do have an hair algae starting to bloom but nothing I want expecting.

For the time being I plan on using red sea coralline pro to try and maintain and stable DKH once I get a feel for what the daily dose will be.

Anyone see any problems with the current levels? Tank has been up 1 week today.

Looks good.
I'd recommend not doing any water changes until your cycle is complete (0 NitrItes, 0 Ammonia).
Also, I'd stay away from SPS for a good long while until you at least get passed the ugly stages and can keep all parameters stable.

I wouldn't be adding anything else at this point. Just let the tank run its course. No carbon, GFO, etc. The white water is from the sand.

Definitely so not plan on any SPS in the near future. Taking that part of the build slow to ensure everything is stable.

So after letting everything settle for a while I still have a bunch if microbubbles in the water column. They appear to be coming from my return.

I have checked and the skimmer is not producing micro bubbles and the water level in the return chamber is above the return pump so it is not sucking air.

Maybe something to do with the way I have it plumbed?

Eshopps R-100 Sump/fuge with Jebo return pump turned most of the way down.

This is how my return is plumbed. Also attached is a picture of the microbubbles coming out of the return.

Zoa frags are not looking so hot. Here are the current water parameters. Am I missing something?

Salinity - 31
PH - 8.1 hanna probe
Alk - 8.0 Hanna
Nitrite - 5 on hanna ULR so .005?
Ammonia - 0 red sea
Nitrate - 0 red sea
Phos - 27 on hanna ULR so .083
Cal - 419 hanna
Mag - 1480 Red sea.

I do have a hair algea out break for some reason and started adding Nopox to drop the nutrients some.

I should add that I started adding the NoPox a couple days ago because my phos was high. I think dropped it too fast. On 6/20 the phosphorus ULR checker read 200 (.613). Seeing this I did an 8 gallon water change, changed filter sock and cleaned skimmer. I have been adding 6ml of NoPox.

I am mixing water now and plan on doing a 10 gallon water change tomorrow and then another 8-10 gallon on Saturday (regular water change day).

So after doing some research I believe it is actually Dino and not an hair algae like I originally thought. Due to this I have stopped the NoPox, and started dosing H2O2. I have also covered the tank for a 72 hour black out and will be adding MB7.
